The SPOOM Mid-Atlantic blog is intended to help stimulate interest in America’s historic mills. The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Society for the Preservation of Old Mills (SPOOM MA) is dedicated to preserving endangered mills and educating its members and the general public about the significance of the early American milling industry. SPOOM MA works closely with SPOOM (the national society) to foster an appreciation for mills and to preserve and promote their historical significance in the American landscape. SPOOM MA draws its members and energy from the states of Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia. The Chapter also coordinates with neighboring states, other SPOOM chapters, and affiliated organizations and institutions.
